So let us have a look at how to perform Yoga tree pose step by step.


  • The first thing that you need to do is to stand up in tadasana position.
  • Next you need to feel your weight and while doing so you must make sure that you try to feel it in all your four corners of your feet.
  • The next thing that you need to do is to start shifting your weight to your right foot. This should be done by lifting your left foot off the floor.
  • The next thing that you have to do is to bend your left knee. You should do this by bringing the sole of your left foot high and this should be done onto your inner right thigh.
  • Now you need to press your foot into your thigh and then your thigh back into the foot.
  • You should ensure that you do not let jut out your right hip. It is also important for to keep both of your hips towards your front side and the shape should take in the form of square.
  • Now try to focus on some objects in order to make sure that you keep your balance without any fail.
  • You should try to repeat your move and this should be done by standing on your left floor.

If you are beginner then you might not be able to bring your left foot inside the right thigh. In this case you should try to bring your left foot lower and that too on the right leg. You should be always careful to ensure that you do not try to place your left foot directly to your right knee. Initially when you are beginner you can try to use the wall to keep good balance.


You should try to close your eyes when you perform this yoga and try to stay very calm in order to stay yourself balanced. You can also try to imagine a picture of a tree while performing Yoga tree pose. You might find very unsteady in the beginning but as you continue to perform this yoga you would be able to get the best idea and thereby derive the maximum gain for your body.
